General Information

Preparing for the IELTS (International English Language Testing System) takes time and practice. This guide is designed to help you prepare the test, guiding you through the required steps to ensure you have the best opportunity to succeed.

The IELTS consists of two separate modules:

  • Academic Module: used for undergraduate or postgraduate study or for professional reasons
  • General Training Module: used for vocational training programs (not a degree level) or for immigration purposes

All IELTS candidates take the same Listening and Speaking tests. Only the Reading and Writing papers are different. Before enrolling for the test, you need to decide which test is best for you. See the official IELTS website for advice.
