Referencing in Business

When submitting a piece of academic work, you must properly acknowledge the sources of information that you have used in your research. You must reference your sources whenever you quote, paraphrase, or use someone else's ideas or words.

At TOP, the style of referencing used in Business is know as the HARVARD REFERENCING SYSTEM

Using this system, acknowledgement is in the form of:

  • In-text citations: The original source is briefly acknowledged within the text (Surname of author and year of publication)
  • Reference List: Details of all original sources are provided in an alphabetical list (by author's surname) at the end of the paper
